Peekbrace ("the extension") is a Chrome extension published by Thimbleroot. It formats the raw JSON documents you open in your browser.
1. What we collect
Nothing. Thimbleroot does not collect, receive, sell or share any personal data, browsing data or page content.
2. How it works
- To detect JSON automatically, the extension's content script runs on every page you open. On normal web pages (HTML) it stops immediately and changes nothing. On raw JSON pages it formats the JSON in place.
- The JSON is processed entirely inside your browser, on your device. It is never stored or transmitted.
- The extension contains no code that makes network requests, and no analytics, advertising or tracking code. It loads no remote code.
- When you click Copy, or click a key to copy its path, the extension writes that text to your clipboard on your device. It does nothing else with it.
3. Settings and Chrome Sync
Your three settings (on/off, theme, collapse depth) are saved with Chrome's storage.sync API. If Chrome Sync is turned on, Google Chrome syncs these settings between browsers signed in to your Google account, under Google's privacy policy. Thimbleroot never receives them. You can clear them by removing the extension.
4. Chrome Web Store User Data Policy (Limited Use)
The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. In practice, Peekbrace reads the JSON on the page you are viewing, and the three settings above (saved with Chrome's storage API), only on your device and only to format and display that JSON, which is its single purpose. This data is never transferred to Thimbleroot or anyone else, never sold, never used for advertising or to determine creditworthiness, and never read by a human.
5. Third parties
The extension shares no data with any third party.
6. Children
The extension is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone.
7. Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new date before the change ships.
